Short tournaments
The club arranges tournaments for adult members throughout the season including:
Winter Tournament - usually held on the second Sunday of the year
Spring Tournament - usually held on the second Sunday in April dependent on the timing of Easter
American Tournament - held in August and includes a "you bring it, we cook it" BBQ
Rose Bowl Tournament - an event with a prize shared by the best lady and gentleman
All of these events have an emphasis on relaxed competitive tennis and are played as mixed doubles.
Matches are played over short sets and the event lasts a morning or afternoon with refreshements provided.
Ladies Day
We run one or two Ladies Days during the year, held in May and October. These events are open to members from other clubs and are a great opportunity to meet and play with friends from around Sussex. The atmosphere is relaxed with just enough competitive edge to the tennis. A buffet lunch, afternoon tea and cakes are provided, so its easy to see why its one of the highlights of the year!
In 2010 our first Ladies Day is on Thursday 20th May and is being organised by Marilyn Hanbury. An entry form in Word format can be obtained by clicking on the daffs. A PDF version is available here.
For junior members, we arrange short afternoons of tennis, often including a coaching session, during the school holidays. These are organised according to the LTA Mini coaching programme, details of which can be found on our coaching pages.
