Coaching update

Its been a cold and mostly dark start to the tenure of Tom Usborne as Plumpton club coach. However all those who have attended have been kept warm and active for every session. And we're all playing better tennis too!
The change to the Mini Red ball for the junior players has increased their confidence and improved their swing. The slightly larger and softer ball gives time for the younger players (under 8) to prepare to play their shots and use a full swing without hitting the ball out of court. In the adult sessions we've seen some good improvements in shot control and selection with most of the sessions concentrating on forehand and backhand from the baseline. There's always something new to learn and every session includes either simulated or real match play to put new skills to the test. Only one session was curtailed due to monsoon rain but the following week was extended by 30 minutes to make up for it!
